This extremely unique skull depicts the classical and known approaches for craniofacial surgery associated with Orthognathic surgical corrections of the facial skeleton. The cuts were made during the course of demonstrating the surgical skeletal cuts and the typical baseline plate fixation points. The plates come from the Walter Lorenz rigid fixation Maxillofacial plating system, using 2mm diameter retaining screws and titanium plates. Wire fixation was used for anatomical and functional adaptation issues and retained with 24 Ga surgical wire.
